Rock Paper ScissorsPlay the Classic Hand Game Online Against the Computer

Challenge the computer to Rock Paper Scissors in your browser with our free online RPS game. Choose from Single round, Best of 3, or Best of 5 series modes. The computer picks its move randomly after a brief suspenseful 600ms reveal delay. Track your wins, losses, and draws across the session with the score board at the top. Use keyboard shortcuts R, P, S to play without using the mouse.

How to Use the Rock Paper Scissors

  1. Choose your game mode from the header — Single round for a quick game, Best of 3 or Best of 5 for a full series.
  2. Click Rock (🪨), Paper (📄), or Scissors (✂️) — or press R, P, or S on your keyboard.
  3. The computer's choice is hidden for 600ms (showing 🤔) before being revealed, building suspense.
  4. Both choices appear side by side with color-coded borders — green for winner, red for loser.
  5. In Best of 3/5 mode, progress dots show the series score and a banner announces the series winner.
  6. Click Play Again to start a new round, or New Series to reset in Best of 3/5 mode.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the computer choose its move?

The computer picks from Rock, Paper, or Scissors using Math.random() — each move has exactly 1/3 probability. There is no pattern, prediction, or adaptation based on your history. You cannot gain an advantage by playing a sequence; every round is independent.

Can I play Best of 5?

Yes. Select "Best 5" in the mode selector in the header. The series continues until one side wins 3 rounds. Progress dots show the current score within the series. A banner announces the series winner.

Are there keyboard shortcuts?

Yes. Press R to throw Rock, P to throw Paper, and S to throw Scissors — all without touching the mouse. This makes the game faster and more reactive. Shortcuts only activate when you are in the move selection phase, not while the result is being shown.
