Decision Maker — Enter Your Options — Let Chance Pick One for You
Can't decide between multiple options? Our free Decision Maker takes your list of choices, runs them through an animated text roulette, and randomly lands on one winner. Unlike a coin flip (2 options) or a yes/no (binary), this tool supports any number of custom options — from 2 to as many as you need. The animation cycles through options with a dramatic speed curve: slow start, fast middle, slow finish — building suspense before the reveal.
How to Use the Decision Maker
- Type your options into the text area, one per line — e.g., "Pizza", "Sushi", "Burgers", "Salad".
- Or use a quick preset — click Lunch ideas, Weekend plans, or Travel to load example options instantly.
- Your options appear as chips below the text area, ready to be selected.
- Click Pick for Me or press Space. The decision roulette animates through all options.
- The animation speeds up then dramatically slows, landing on the winning option highlighted in blue.
- The winner is displayed with a 🎯 banner and the pop-in animation. Click Pick Again to re-run.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many options can I add?
There is no hard limit. You can add as many options as you want by entering them one per line in the text area. The animation and chip display adapt to accommodate large lists, though readability is best with 20 or fewer options.
Is the selection truly random?
Yes. The winner is pre-determined using Math.random() before the animation begins. The roulette cycling is purely visual — it always ends on the pre-selected winner. Every option has an equal 1/N probability of being chosen.
How is this different from the Spin Wheel?
Both tools randomly select from a list, but the Decision Maker uses a text-based animated chip roulette rather than a visual spinning wheel canvas. The Decision Maker is better for quick text-based choices, while the Spin Wheel is better for visual, gamified experiences or when you want to show the full list on screen during the spin.
